Details

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected.
* WHERE...East facing reefs of the Marianas.
* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Saturday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Long-period east to northeast swell, emanating from distant Typhoon Dolphin, is expected to develop a high risk of rip currents along east-facing reefs of the Marianas beginning Sunday afternoon. As Dolphin passes the far northern CNMI, the long-period swell direction will likely shift north early next week, and then northwest. As it does so, a high risk of rip currents, and hazardous surf, is expected to develop along north, then west facing reefs next week.
