The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for... Central Otero County in south central New Mexico...
* Until 945 PM MDT.
* At 643 PM MDT, Earlier thunderstorms in the Mayhill area have caused flooding on the Rio Penasco. Due to the lack of gauges on this stream, it is difficult to know where the flooding currently is occurring, but it is most likely downstream (north and east) of the US-82 and Highway 130 corridor. With considerable runoff, it will take some time for stream levels to come down.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
