Pecos River Near Lake Arthur affecting Chaves County.
.Heavy rains within the Pecos River drainage basin will result in significant rises on the river today. Pay attention to river forecasts for changes in height and timing information. The most recent forecast has lowered the peak crest from moderate flood to minor flood but with a longer duration of elevated flows.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Pecos River near Lake Arthur.
* WHEN...Until Sunday morning.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:15 AM MDT Saturday the stage was 16.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 17.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 20.2 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage this evening. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 20.6 feet on 10/07/1954. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
