The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a
* Special Marine Warning for... Nearshore and Open waters from Willowick OH to Geneva-on-the-lake OH...
* Until 715 PM EDT.
* At 544 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 20 nm northwest of Fairport Harbor to 15 nm northwest of Willowick to near Avon Point, moving southeast at 35 knots.
HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, and small hail.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high winds. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher waves.
