For the following areas... Chesapeake Bay from North Beach to Drum Point MD... Chesapeake Bay from Sandy Point to North Beach MD... Choptank River to Cambridge MD and the Little Choptank River... Eastern Bay...

At 436 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 7 nm west of Fort Smallwood State Park to 11 nm northeast of Tidal Basin to Reagan National Airport, moving east at 40 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 48 knots, and small hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas.

Locations impacted include... Parsons Island, Choptank River, Eastern Bay, Blackwalnut Point, Greenbury Point, Naval Academy, Highland Beach, Severn River, Romancoke, Bloody Point Light, Matapeake, Thomas Point Light, Poplar Island, Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Knapps Narrows Bridge, North Beach, Tilghman Island, Shady Side, Annapolis, and Chesapeake Beach.
