Turkey River at Spillville affecting Winneshiek County.
.Much of the Turkey River Basin from Garber upstream through Spillville received 2 to 5 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. The latest forecasts brings the crest at Elkader lower due to lower forecast precipitation amounts during the overnight as well as a slower routing from upstream locations. Much of the uncertainty in these river forecasts stems from uncertainty in how fast the water will flow downstream with time.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Turkey River at Spillville.
* WHEN...Until Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, River begins to wrap around Riverside Park between the campground and baseball fields. Flooding in yards between N Main Street and river north of Bridge Street.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 6.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow morning to a crest of 9.6 feet early tomorrow afternoon.
