Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.

Wabash River at Vincennes.

.Several inches of rainfall over the past week have brought moderate flooding to the Wabash River. The crest on the Wabash is past Independence and approaching Covington on Monday afternoon. The crest is forecast to reach Riverton this weekend. Additional rainfall later this week could lengthen the amount of time spent in flood.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Vincennes.

* WHEN...From late Tuesday night until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, Extensive agricultural flooding in progress in areas that are not protected by levees. In Lawrence County Illinois, River Road is flooded from the Lincoln Memorial Bridge to the east edge of Billett.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:45 AM EDT Monday /10:45 AM CDT Monday/ the stage was 13.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Wednesday morning and continue rising to a crest of 21.2 feet Monday, August 24. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
