Heavy rain may fall on a primed snowpack at higher elevations leading to the snow melt increasing. Flows in rivers may increase quickly and reach critical levels.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be possible.
* WHERE...A portion of north central Montana, including the following area, East Glacier Park Region, including the east side of Glacier National Park.
* WHEN...From Sunday evening through Tuesday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Heavy rainfall is expected over the Northern Rockies, including the east side of Glacier Park from today into Monday. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible by Monday. Additionally, high elevation snowpack could be washed out, adding to additional runoff. - The east side of Glacier National Park, including areas around St. Mary and Babb. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
