Details

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 7 inches.
* WHERE...Fairbanks, Fox, Chatanika, Ester and Nenena.
* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 4 PM AKDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates will intensify through Tuesday, with heavier snow expected by late Tuesday morning. There is high uncertainty in the exact location of this heavier snow area, as a band looks likely to set up immediately east of the area. This detail will be crucial in determining which spots get 6 inches or more versus 3 inches or less. A 30 mile change east or west will result in drastic differences. If the area of heavier snow shifts slightly west, heavy snow becomes more likely over the area, and some areas like North Pole could see greater totals of 7 or even 8 inches. If the area of heavier snow shifts slightly east, heavy snow becomes less likely over the area.
