Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing heavy rain.
Slow-moving thunderstorms may produce heavy rain today.
The threat area is over the northern half of Vancouver Island. This area is bordered by Port McNeill, Brooks Peninsula Provincial Park, and Strathcona Provincial Park.
The threat area includes: - Highway 19 between Port McNeill and Campbell River - Highway 28 between Gold River and Campbell River - Woss - Vernon Lake - Zeballos - Tahsis - Gold River - Sayward

Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
