Yellow Watch - Severe Thunderstorm

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

What: Wind gusts of 90 to 110 km/h Toonie to golf ball size hail Torrential downpours Isolated tornado

When: Late this afternoon and evening.

Additional Comments: The greatest risk of severe thunderstorms is between 8:00 P.M. and 12:00 A.M.

Utility outages are possible. Significant damage to property, buildings and trees is possible.

Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
