At 5:27 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts and heavy rain.

Thunderstorm Location: Orillia to Newmarket to Peterborough.

Motion: Moving quickly to the east at 70 km/h

Hazards: Wind: strong (Up to 90 km/h) The strongest winds may be ahead of the line of thunderstorms. Rain: heavy (Up to 30 mm)

Locations in the Path: Peterborough, Curve Lake, Lakefield

Local utility outages are likely. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. There is a risk of injury.
