At 5:14 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts and heavy rain.

Thunderstorm Location: Orillia to Alliston

Motion: Moving quickly to the east at 80 km/h

Hazards: Wind: damaging (Up to 100 km/h) The strongest winds may be ahead of the line of thunderstorms. Rain: heavy (Up to 30 mm)

Locations in the Path: Barrie, Orillia, Newmarket, Kawartha Lakes, Lindsay

Utility outages are likely. Significant damage to buildings and/or trees is likely. There is a risk of serious injury.
