Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
What: Wind gusts of 90 to 110 km/h Hail up to golf ball size Torrential downpours of 50 to 75 mm
When: This evening and overnight.
Additional information: Severe thunderstorms are expected to move over the area through the evening or overnight. Wind and hail are the main threats. There is also a risk of local rainfall of 50 to 75 mm if multiple storms move over the same area.

Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Large hail can cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
