Yellow Warning - Wind

Damaging winds are expected.

What: A strong sudden push of southwest wind with gusts ranging from 80-100 km/h. Localized gusts of 100-120 km/h are possible.

When: Tonight for the Central Interior. Overnight for the Peace District.

Where: - McGregor - Peace District

Additional information: A very strong low pressure system will trek across the B.C interior this evening. As the low passes across the region, a very strong push of wind is expected to follow the low, which will produce a sudden shift of wind direction and gusts of up to 100 km/h. The strong wind push should reach the Peace District just after midnight. Winds should ease within a few hours of the strong push occurring.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
