Orange Warning - Severe Thunderstorm

At 7:02 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, golf ball to tennis ball size hail and heavy rain.

This thunderstorm is located along the BC border, 90 km southwest of Grande Prairie and is moving northward at 25 km/h.

Heavy rain will likely cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Large hail will likely cause significant damage and injury.

Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
