...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING ACROSS FAR SOUTHEAST OREGON ZONES...

.Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop near the Nevada border and south-central Oregon this afternoon. The thunderstorms are expected to be a mix of wet and dry. Expect gusty and erratic winds up to 45 mph in the vicinity of these thunderstorms.

More thunderstorms are expected Thursday afternoon in eastern Oregon.

The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low humidity, which is in effect from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Oregon, Fire Weather Zones 670 Burns BLM, 671 Steens Mountain and 672 Southern Grasslands.

* TIMING...For the Red Flag Warning, until 11 PM PDT this evening. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered coverage with abundant lightning tonight and Thursday.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty erratic winds up to 50 mph.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
