Flood Warning

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Southern Jewell County in north central Kansas...

* WHEN...Until 900 PM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 922 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that heavy rain fell earlier this morning from thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain fell from heavy thunderstorms earlier this morning, with Jewell County emergency management reporting several unpaved rural roads closed due to flooding, washed-out shoulders and standing water. Although only light rain is falling now, additional moderate to at-times heavy rain will occur over the course of today into tonight, with the potential for another 2-4 inches of rain within the area. Should additional heavy rain develop, this could obviously cause flooding issues to worsen, including the possibility of more urgent flash flooding concerns. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Limestone Creek, West Marsh Creek, Spring Creek, West Limestone Creek, Porcupine Creek, Middle Limestone Creek, Browns Creek, East Fork Big Timber Creek, West Buffalo Creek, Middle Buffalo Creek, Elm Creek, Johns Creek, Little Oak Creek, East Marsh Creek, Ash Creek, Buffalo Creek, Dry Creek, Granite Creek, Oak Creek, East Buffalo Creek. - Some locations that could experience flooding include...
