The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for... Northeastern Pima County in southeastern Arizona... South Central Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...
* Until 1015 PM MST.
* At 713 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. This is already falling on saturated grounds. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Mainly rural areas of Northeastern Pima and South Central Pinal Counties.
This includes the following highways... Route 79 between mile markers 97 and 109. Interstate 10 between mile markers 229 and 238.
This includes the following Flash Flood Prone Locations... Suizo Rd at Cadillac Wash and Park Link Dr between I-10 and HWY 79.
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
