At 625 PM EDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area with roads flooded in New Brunswick. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas.
Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... New Brunswick, Morristown, Somerville, Somerset, Edison, East Brunswick, South Brunswick, North Brunswick, Madison, Middlesex, Princeton and Florham Park.
This includes the following highways... New Jersey Turnpike between exits 8A and 11. Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 17...and between mile markers 27 and 47. Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 34 and 42. Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 40 and 48. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 130 and 134.
