At 623 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas.

Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Dover, Hopatcong, Wharton, Rockaway, Mount Arlington, Mendham, Stanhope, Netcong, Peapack And Gladstone, Chester, Victory Gardens and Lebanon.

This includes the following highways... Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 22 and 26. Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 20 and 31. Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 23 and 39.
