* WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 6 to 8 feet feet in the surf zone. For the Beach Hazards Statement, dangerous rip currents, large breaking waves, and hazardous debris in the surf zone. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to one to two feet of inundation above ground level expected in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways with compromised dune structures.

* WHERE...Hatteras Island.

* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until midnight EDT tonight. For the High Surf Advisory, until 8 AM EDT this morning. For the Beach Hazards Statement, through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Up to 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways with compromised dune structures resulting in a low threat of property damage. Numerous roads may be closed. NC-12 remains closed from the Basnight Bridge to Rodanthe. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tides on Sunday are around 8:20 AM and 8:40 PM. The most likely time for strong rip currents to occur is a couple hours either side of low tide, which will occur around 2:30 PM Sunday.
