For communities along Kuskokwim River (Tuntutuliak):
* High water flowing down the Kuskokwim River, in combination with storm surge flowing up river, could cause water levels to increase as high as bankfull to minor flood stage during high tide.
* Timing: Water levels will be highest during high tide, which will be from around 11 AM through 4 PM.
For communities along the coast (Kongiganak, Kwigillingok, Kipnuk, Toksook Bay, Tununak):
* Strong onshore winds could bring the potential for coastal erosion and minor coastal flooding in the worst case scenario. The more likely scenario is that water levels will remain below 1 to 2 feet above the normal highest tide, and no flooding will occur.
* Timing: Water levels will be highest during high tide on Friday, from about 10 AM through 2 PM. Communities further north, like Toksook Bay and Tununak, may see higher water levels during Thursday's high tide as well.
Next steps:
* Monitor the forecast for updates.
* Be prepared to take action in case of minor flooding.
