The National Weather Service in Tucson has extended the
* Flash Flood Warning for... North Central Pima County in southeastern Arizona... Eastern Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...
* Until 330 PM MST.
* At 220 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Marana, Avra Valley, Kearny, Dudleyville, Pinal Airpark, Picture Rocks, Red Rock, Dove Mountain, Kelvin and San Carlos Reservoir.
This includes the following highways... Route 79 between mile markers 95 and 118. Route 77 between mile markers 122 and 134. Route 177 between mile markers 139 and 156. Interstate 10 between mile markers 224 and 242.
This includes the following Flash Flood Prone Locations... Suizo Rd at Cadillac Wash, Sasco Rd at Santa Cruz Wash, Park Link Dr between I-10 and HWY 79 and Twin Peaks Rd between Sanders and Sandario.
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
