Flood Watch

The first round of rainfall is wrapping up with only isolated showers or weak storms possible for the rest of tonight through Sunday morning. Another round of showers and storms are expected for Sunday evening. Heavy rainfall and localized flooding will be possible Sunday evening into early Sunday night, particularly across Maricopa and Pinal Counties.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Arizona, including the following areas, Apache Junction/Gold Canyon, Dripping Springs, Globe/Miami, Northwest Pinal County, Pinal/Superstition Mountains, San Carlos, Sonoran Desert Natl Monument, Southeast Gila County, Superior and West Pinal County.

* WHEN...From this evening through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Ample moisture and atmospheric instability will again combine with a weather system positioned over western portions of the region to promote scattered thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rainfall from Sunday evening into Sunday night.
