Tropical Cyclone Lala will bring heavy rain to the Big Island and Maui County this evening through Sunday and Oahu, Kauai, and Niihau Saturday evening through late Sunday night.
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
* WHERE...The island of Maui and the island of Hawaii.
* WHEN...From 6 PM HST this evening through late Saturday night.
* IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Tropical Cyclone Lala will bring heavy rain to the Big Island and Maui, beginning Friday evening through Saturday night. At this time, amounts of 10 to 15 inches are possible over windward areas of Big Island, with 8 to 12 inches over windward areas of Maui. Higher localized amounts are possible.
