The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for... The Rio Grande between Rincon Arroyo and Leasburg Diversion Dam... and Rincon Arroyo near Rincon.

* Until 130 AM MDT.

* At 1111 PM MDT, Water levels on the Rio Grande at Hayner's Bridge continue to slowly drop. But flooding is still likely occurring north of Leasburg Dam. Water levels are also continuing to drop at Rincon Arroyo.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Gauges reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Rincon, Peaceful Valley, Selden Canyon, Rinconcito, and Radium Springs north of Leasburg Dam.

The Rio Grande at Hayner's Bridge crested at 10.87 feet, with a flow of 6,307 cfs, at 730 PM. It has since dropped to 10.17 feet and a flow of 5,434 cfs as of 11 PM.

River levels continue to slowly rise at Leasburg Dam, but no flooding is anticipated south of Leasburg due to levee protection, and higher ground along the right bank.
