* Flash Flood Warning for... Cherokee County in southeastern Kansas... Southeastern Crawford County in southeastern Kansas... Southwestern Barton County in southwestern Missouri... Western Jasper County in southwestern Missouri... Northwestern Newton County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 245 AM CDT.

* At 943 PM CDT, Emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall and flash flooding in Scammon. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Joplin, Pittsburg, Carthage, Baxter Springs, Columbus, Webb City, Carl Junction, Frontenac, Galena, Oronogo, Carterville, Duquesne, Arma, Duenweg, Weir, Leawood, Silver Creek, Alba, Scammon, Purcell, Mindenmines, Shoal Creek Drive, Saginaw, West Mineral, Treece, Loma Linda, Airport Drive, Lowell, Sherman, Chicopee, Nashville, Franklin, Carytown, Fidelity, Asbury, Neck City, Redings Mill, Grand Falls Plaza, Brooklyn Heights and Shoal Creek Estates.

This includes the following low water crossings... Center Creek at Dogwood Road and Fidelity Branch at County Road 130.
