Special Weather Statement

At 1112 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Oak Grove to near Alpha to near Knoxville. Movement was east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and torrential rainfall leading to localized flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could cause minor tree limb damage and blow around unsecured objects. Slowing or redirecting of traffic due to ponding or flowing water. Closure of waterfront access due to flooding.

Locations impacted include... Moline, Rock Island, Kewanee, Aledo, Cambridge, Geneseo, Milan, Colona, Coal Valley, Galva, Burgess, Orion, Andalusia, Atkinson, Viola, Annawan, Woodhull, Millersburg, Matherville, and Alpha.

This includes the following highways... Interstate 80 in Illinois between mile markers 10 and 35. Interstate 74 in Illinois between mile markers 12 and 33. Interstate 280 near mile marker 14.

Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches per hour are possible with the strongest storms.
