...The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Arizona...
Gila River At Gila River at Duncan affecting Greenlee County.
For the Upper Gila...including Gila River at Duncan...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Gila River at Gila River at Duncan.
* WHEN...Until Wednesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...The Gila is currently forecasted to rise to 20.8 feet, which is still Minor Flood Stage. At Minor Flood State, the Highway 75 bridge approach bottom reached on the left bank and dike structure failure is a possibility. If it rises to 21.0 feet, or Moderate Flood Stage: Water running over top of left bank of Highway 75 bridge approach in Duncan. Fields adjacent to the river and structures close to the river flood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 PM MST Tuesday the stage was 18.1 feet and rising. - Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - Flood History...No available flood history. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
