Details

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County...
* WHEN...Until 1115 PM HST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. River or stream flows are elevated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 800 PM HST, Radar indicated moderate rain across east Maui and the slopes of Haleakala. Rain was falling at a rate of 0.5 to 1.5 inches per hour. Although streams have fallen in the past few hours and rainfall rates are not as high as they were earlier today, radar trends indicate that additional bands of heavy rainfall with higher rates are expected to move onshore through the night. Additional rounds of heavy rainfall are expected throughout the evening. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Nahiku, Keanae, Kipahulu, Kaupo, Hana, Huelo, Makawao, Haiku- Pauwela, Haliimaile and Pauwela.
