* WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 12 to 14 feet expected in the surf zone. For the Coastal Flood Watch, significant coastal flooding. For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents expected.
* WHERE...North and west facing reefs of Tinian and Saipan.
* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, from 4 AM Friday to 4 AM ChST Monday. For the Coastal Flood Watch, through Monday evening. For the High Rip Current Risk, from late tonight through late Sunday night.
* IMPACTS...Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure may be inundated. Some shoreline erosion may occur. Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
Instructions
Rip currents will be life threatening. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.
Rip currents will be life threatening. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
