Wabash River at Covington, and at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.

.Large quantities of rain have fallen over Indiana over the past several days bringing widespread flooding to much of central and part of southern Indiana. Rainfall accumulations of up to ten plus inches fell from northwest Indiana to east central Indiana to southeast Indiana, and 4 to 6 inches fell in the immediate vicinity of the northern and middle Wabash River...with even higher amounts just over the Illinois/Indiana state border near Covington.

Numerous locations along the Wabash River are reaching moderate flood stage. The crest passed Lafayette today and should reach and should reach Covington Monday evening.

Additional rain is possible overnight tonight, followed by decreasing clouds and dry weather Monday.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Terre Haute.

* WHEN...Until Tuesday, August 25.

* IMPACTS...At 24.9 feet, On May 3, 2011 two homes in West Terre Haute area affected by seep water. River crested near 26.7 feet about 2 days before.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM EDT Sunday /7:30 PM CDT Sunday/ the stage was 21.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 PM EDT Sunday /7:30 PM CDT Sunday/ was 21.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.8 feet early Thursday morning.
