Wabash River at Terre Haute, Montezuma, and at Lafayette.

Wildcat Creek near Lafayette.
Wabash River at Covington, and at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.
.Large quantities of rain have fallen over Indiana over the past several days bringing widespread flooding to much of central and part of southern Indiana. Rainfall accumulations of up to ten plus inches fell from northwest Indiana to east central Indiana to southeast Indiana, and 4 to 6 inches fell in the immediate vicinity of the northern and middle Wabash River...with even higher amounts just over the Illinois/Indiana state border near Covington.
Numerous locations along the Wabash River are reaching moderate flood stage. The crest passed Lafayette today and should reach and should reach Covington Monday evening.
Additional rain is possible overnight tonight, followed by decreasing clouds and dry weather Monday.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Wabash River at Montezuma.
* WHEN...Until Monday, August 24.
* IMPACTS...At 25.5 feet, Extensive lowland flooding in progress. The eastern most part of Vermillion CR 600 S impassable just north of U.S. 36. The lowest portions of Wabash Road west of Parke CR 600 W begin to flood. Montezuma Public Access Site and low portions of Montezuma Park under water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 24.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:45 PM EDT Sunday was 24.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 25.6 feet Tuesday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Sunday, August 23. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
