Flood Advisory

* WHAT...Urban and arroyo flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Western El Paso County in Texas and far south-central Dona Ana County in New Mexico. This includes much of the City of El Paso except the far east and lower valley.

* WHEN...Until 900 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 705 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated torrential rainfall due to thunderstorms. Over a half inch of rain has fallen in some areas, and rainfall rates of 1 to 1.5 inches per hour have been observed. - The thunderstorms are beginning to move steadily, which should limit flood impacts. Should they stall out or slow down, flood warnings may become necessary. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Much of El Paso except the Far East and Lower Valley, Santa Teresa, Sunland Park, Canutillo, Fort Bliss, Biggs Field, Fort Bliss Northeast and Franklin Mountains State Park. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
