The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Bulloch County in southeastern Georgia...

* Until 730 PM EDT.

* At 438 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Statesboro, Register, Georgia Southern, Jimps, Kennedy Pond, Irongate, Westbrooke, Somerset, New Hope and Emit.

A nearly stationary cluster of thunderstorms has developed across portions of Bulloch County and is producing very intense rainfall. The heaviest rain is falling around Statesboro and to the southwest, including the New Hope and Adabelle areas. A home weather station near Georgia Southern University has measured nearly 2 inches of rain in less than an hour. Radar imagery indicates that heavy rainfall will continue, increasing the potential for flash flooding. Impacted roadway include, but are not limited to, Highway 301, Highway 301 Bypass, Highway 80.
