Tropical Depression 29W continues to organize as it continues it's long voyage towards the Marianas, and is currently located at 10.6N 160.1E, which is 1030 miles east of Guam. Movement has been to the northwest at 13 mph, and a more gradual turn to the west- northwest is expected. It's important for folks to keep in mind that wobbles in the track occur all the time, and a slight change can make a big difference in terms of who experiences what, and for how long.
The main theme we've been telling folks is tropical storm-force winds look probable over some locations of the Marianas between Guam and Saipan, with typhoon conditions also possible. Heavy rainfall will also accompany the storm. Rainfall amounts of 5 to 10 inches, with locally higher amounts possible. For our mariners, seas will rapidly build Saturday into Sunday, with seas likely climbing above 20 feet. Some coastal inundation is likely.
