Flood Advisory

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County...

* WHEN...Until 145 AM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. Water over roadways. River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1049 PM HST, Doppler radar indicated moderate to locally heavy rain over Hilo, Hamakua, Kohala and Kona districts. Minor flooding is ongoing due to rain bands associated with Hurricane Lala. Rain was falling at a rate of 0.5 to 1.5 inches per hour. Streams remain elevated especially over windward Big Island. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hilo, Kailua-Kona, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Captain Cook, Waikoloa Village, Kapaau, Honokaa, Pohakuloa Camp, Pohakuloa Training Area, Kamuela, Puuanahulu and Paauilo.
