For the following areas... Pamlico Sound... S of Cape Hatteras NC to Ocracoke Inlet NC out to 20 NM...

At 406 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located near The Center Of The Pamlico Sound, or 8 nm southwest of Pamlico Sound, moving east at 20 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

Locations impacted include... Pamlico Sound, Hatteras Village, and The Center Of The Pamlico Sound.
