White River from Muncie to Edwardsport.

.Significant rainfall over the past 3 to 4 days has resulted in flooding along the White River and associated tributaries in central Indiana. Major to record flooding is occurring along the White River near Indianapolis and in the northeastern portion of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Residents of these areas in flood zones are advised to follow the recommendations of local emergency officials, as evacuations have occurred in some areas.

Additional rain is possible at times through the weekend. Please stay advised of the latest forecasts and conditions through the weekend into next week, especially those who live near waterways or other flood prone areas.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...White River at Spencer.

* WHEN...From late tonight to Saturday, August 22.

* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Road south of river gage begins to flood. Gosport Road closes. Extensive agricultural flooding is in progress. Moon Road in very rural northwest Monroe County is extensively flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:30 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 11.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tonight to a crest of 19.5 feet early Wednesday morning.
