...The Flood Warning continues or is extended for the following rivers in Indiana...
Fall Creek at Millersville.
Fall Creek near Fortville.
White River from Muncie to Edwardsport.
.Significant rainfall over the past 3 to 4 days has resulted in flooding along the White River and associated tributaries in central Indiana. Major to record flooding is occurring along the White River near Indianapolis and in the northeastern portion of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Residents of these areas in flood zones are advised to follow the recommendations of local emergency officials, as evacuations have occurred in some areas.
Additional rain is possible at times through the weekend. Please stay advised of the latest forecasts and conditions through the weekend into next week, especially those who live near waterways or other flood prone areas.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...White River at Newberry.
* WHEN...From Sunday evening to Sunday, August 23.
* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Flood waters block access and begins to surround about 5 to 10 river cabins on south side of the river just southwest of Newberry.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:30 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 7.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow evening to a crest of 17.0 feet early Thursday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday, August 22. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
