Special Weather Statement

At 224 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles southeast of Halifax to near Bailey. Movement was northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include... Rocky Mount, Tarboro, Nashville, Wilson, Scotland Neck, Elm City, Dortches, Bailey, Red Oak, and Enfield.

This includes the following highways... Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 150 and 119. NC Highway 264 between Mile Markers 30 and 37, and between Mile Markers 50 and 56.
