At 522 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 13 miles northwest of Rutherfordton, or 5 miles northeast of Lake Lure. This storm was nearly stationary.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible.
