...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR EAST AND SOUTHEAST FACING SHORES OF BIG ISLAND MAUI AND MOLOKAI...
.Hurricane Nolo inches north toward the Big Island then turns west on Saturday while remaining south of the Hawaiian Islands. Nolo is producing a moderate south swell that is causing building surf along east and southeast facing shores of the Big Island, Maui, and Molokai.
* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet today, increasing to 10 to 14 feet Saturday.
* WHERE...East and southeast facing shores of Big Island Maui and Molokai.
* WHEN...Through Saturday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Moderate to High. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous. Expect very strong breaking waves and powerful currents. Waves breaking in channel entrances may make navigating the channels dangerous.
