At 315 AM EDT, Thunderstorms earlier this evening produced between 4 and locally 7.5 inches of rain in eastern Surry County, western Stokes County, and southwest Patrick County. Several rivers and creeks continue to rise due to heavy runoff from this rainfall. This is a dangerous situation as numerous roads are flooded this morning, with the potential that motorists may unknowingly drive into deep flood waters, not realizing the flooding is there due to the darkness.
