At 918 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rain had ended over the Wide Ruins area. However, flash flooding remains a threat from earlier heavy rainfall. Between 1.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Arizona DOT reported flooding along US-191, south of Wide Ruins, near milepost 389. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
SOURCE...Arizona DOT reported.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, normally dry washes, and highways.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Wide Ruins.
This includes Highway 191 between mile markers 382 and 392.
This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Bent Knee Wash, Oak Ridge Wash and Wide Ruin Wash.
