Severe Thunderstorm Warning

At 852 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Woodstown to near Hancocks Bridge to near Glasgow, moving southeast at 30 mph. These storms have a history of producing widespread damaging winds across Chester and northern New Castle Counties.

THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR southern Salem and western Cumberland Counties in New Jersey, and New Castle and northern Kent Counties in Delaware!

HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

Locations impacted include... Wilmington, Newark, Middletown, Pennsville, Carneys Point, Elsmere, New Castle, Penns Grove, Salem, Oxford, Woodstown, Alloway, Quinton, Swedesboro, Delaware City, Elmer, Newport, Shiloh, Stanton, and North Star.

This includes the following highways... New Jersey Turnpike near exit 1. Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania near mile marker 0. Interstate 95 in Delaware between mile markers 1 and 23. Interstate 295 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 10.
