At 8:37 a.m. ADT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts and heavy rain.
An organized area of thunderstorms are currently affecting parts of northern Cape Breton have mainly moved over Victoria county. Radar returns suggest the potential for locally very strong wind gusts as well as very heavy downpours and potentially small hail. These storms are moving southeast at around 50 km/h.
Hazards: - Rainfall rates up to 25 mm per hour - Strong wind gusts potentially reaching 90 km/h
