At 359 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Castle Hayne, or 10 miles north of Leland, moving northeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include... Wilmington, Burgaw, Wrightsville Beach, Surf City, North Masonboro Island, Figure Eight Island, Hampstead, Maple Hill, Hightsville, Long Creek, Cape Fear Community College North Campus, Ashton, Wilmington International Airport, Masonboro, Murrayville, Rocky Point, Castle Hayne, University Of North Carolina At Wilmington, Scotts Hill, and Ogden.

This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between mile markers 399 and 416. Interstate 140 between mile markers 15 and 20.
