The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for... Northwestern Cochise County in southeastern Arizona... South Central Graham County in southeastern Arizona...
* Until 845 PM MST Tuesday.
* At 238 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Muleshoe Ranch Preserve, Bonita, Fort Grant, Texas Canyon, Mount Graham and Frye Mesa Dam.
This includes the following highways... Route 191 near mile marker 117. Route 266 between mile markers 114 and 126. Interstate 10 between mile markers 315 and 322.
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
